I spend all year telling the kids to spread out on the field and not bunch up, only to try and get them together in the one spot for a photo, to discover one was missing from the shot after the fact 🤦.
I had a ball working with the U8s this year, it was so good to see them attend training each week and then apply that at the games. It can be tough for newcomers to the sport to really get a grasp without the additional bit of training each week.
As many of you know, the 8's and 10's trained together each week and I'd just like to thank Bronte, Emma J & Emma M for all their work throughout the year as well. Helping out on nights or weekends I was stuck at work and just being there for support in general. I know the kids love you and look up to each one of you.
Seeing the kids develop over the year really establishes a sense of pride as a coach and I look forward to seeing them continue to grow in the blue shirts for many years to come.
Lastly, I'd like to thank the parents who turned up to training each week bringing the kids along and then again first thing Saturday morning. The kids will never know just how much I'm sure you'd love to sleep in one weekend without having to do the mouthguard/stick/shin pad shuffle first thing Saturday morning. You guys are the true heroes.
2023 will be my last year as U8's coach, moving forward I'll be assisting with other grades so I look forward to seeing the kids at the grounds in other grades, go Panthers!
